The League of Friends of Glangwili Hospital held a successful Christmas Fayre at the Outpatients Dept. on the 21st of November 2015. It was opened by County Councillor Peter Hughes Griffiths, Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council who was accompanied by his wife and consort Meinir Griffiths. Due to the generosity of so many and in conjunction with the holding of a grand raffle the sum of £903 was raised.
The raffle first prize – a ride in a hot air balloon – donated by Mr and Mrs Smith of Typica Farm, Dryslwyn was won by Edwin Jones, Abergwili . Second prize – a clock radio donated by Jones Television, Nantgaredig was won by Mrs Beynon, Kidwelly. Third prize of £50 – won by Monica Nichols and fourth prize of £25 to Brython Phillips.
Chairman of the League, Rev. Geraint Davies expressed his thanks to all who supported – with a special thanks for the hospital staff who as always play a big part in the day’s success. He made an appeal for new members and if interested in joining a rewarding organisation to contact Secretary Pat Parcell at Carmarthen 238127 or any other League member.
